A Message From Happy Hooves Owner, Britt Lerdal
I am the owner of the not-for-profit company Happy Hooves Therapeutic Farm. When Kirk and I were married 20 years ago, we were asked by our pastor what the cornerstone of our marriage would be. We decided on providing hospitality to all who come into our lives and our home.
When I bought my first horse, Duke over 6 years ago, I began this crazy journey to the place I am today. At the barn where I was boarding Duke, there was a physical therapist, Loren Gineris, who had started her own company called Strides In Motion. I started to volunteer and offered my horse Duke to be used in hippotherapy. During this time, I saw the wonderful and miraculous things that animal-assisted therapies could do for people of all ages, but especially children.
When the opportunity came around to start a not-for-profit And work with animals and kids together, I couldn’t pass it up. My family has been so supportive and helped me every step of the way. It is our goal at Happy Hooves to create an environment where everyone is included and feels our hospitality and love.
